Pam Suphakamol Vuntanadit
BIOGRAPHY
Suphakamol Vuntanadit, or known by her nickname as "Pam", was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. Now at the age of 27 years old, Pam has dedicated almost 20 years of her life to horses - although she did not grow up in a “horsey” country or with a horsey family. She began riding at the age of seven years old at a small local riding club in the outskirts of Bangkok. It became a family activity to make the two-hour-long drive every Friday afternoon after school for her and her sister to be able to ride on the weekends. After winning the youth classes in the Thailand Championships, Pam met her first dressage horse Escudo (now at the age of 23) in Germany, with whom she made history with a Team Gold and individual Silver at the National Games in 2015.
Pam fell in love with the art of dressage at a very young age when she had the opportunity to watch the SEA Games take place in her home country back in 2007. It was fascinating how humans were able to communicate with horses so effortlessly to create performances as "one" being. Since then, it has always been Pam's aspiration to compete at the highest level of the sport. She would take every opportunity to study and seek knowledge to be able to understand and appreciate the artistry of the dressage sport. Ultimately, it is her lifelong dream to represent Thailand for the first time ever in dressage in the Olympic Games.
In 2016, Pam decided to move to The Netherlands to pursue her studies in university and also develop her skills as an equestrian athlete. Pam completed her undergraduate degree in Business and Law from the University College Maastricht and her graduate degree in Corporate and Commercial Law in Maastricht University. Additionally, she is planning to pursue her legal studies further in the postgraduate program.
Since 2016, Pam has represented Thailand in numerous international events in all levels around the world. In 2017, she was the first Thai rider to compete in the Young Rider's classes with her horse Hermes and slowly developed to the Intermediate II levels with her horse Clement V. In 2022, Pam was the first Thai rider to compete in the U25 classes with her horse Dreamboat BCN, with whom she has slowly grown together in the sport to mark history as the first Thai rider to compete in the international 5* Grand Prix in 2024. Pam has also taken part in qualifying for the Asian Games in 2023 with her horse Quadroneur, who later became her reserve horse in the qualifications of the Paris Olympics. One of Pam's equestrian career highlights is to be able to represent Thailand for the first time in the qualification for the Olympic Games in 2023-2024 and ended up in the Top 10 among veteren individual riders in Group G (Asia and Oceania) with her horse, Dreamboat BCN.
Pam is currently known in the equestrian community as one of the "Two Thai Vuntanadit Sisters". She is currently based with her sister, Patty, in Belgium with their own private dressage stables where they manage and care for their horses themselves. From a little girl with big dreams, Pam has now taken the next step in her equestrian career as a professional rider. With her next goals set to be the first rider to represent Thailand at the World Equestrian Games in 2026 and the LA Olympics in 2028, Pam works very closely with her sister and her team to ensure that all of her horses are in her best physical and mental condition to be able to tackle the upcoming journey around the world as she continues to chase after her dreams.
