JEMIMA HOWDEN
BIOGRAPHY
Based at Cornbury Park in the United Kingdom, Jemima Howden is one of Great Britain's most promising young eventers. She is currently honing her skills as part of the prestigious GB Talent Training Academy for 2025.
Jemima's passion for equestrian sports emerged early, and despite being largely self-taught, her determination has propelled her to excel in eventing. In 2020, she began her partnership with Rolo, then a six-year-old horse, and together they completed their first BE100 that same year. Four years later, the pair placed 5th in the Young Rider National Championships CCI3*-L, earning Jemima a place on the GB Young Rider European Team.
Today, Jemima manages a team of seven exceptional horses, ranging from 4 to 11 years old. In 2024, she celebrated her first two international wins, qualified for the Burghley Young Event Horse Final, and proudly represented Great Britain at the European Championships in Strzegom, Poland. Looking ahead to 2025, she aims to tackle her first 4* event, continue her pursuit of European team selection, and guide her young horses through the Burghley Young Event Horse classes. She also looks forward to competing at the Cornbury Young Horse Championships, an event founded by her father, David Howden. At the 2024 edition of Cornbury, she achieved remarkable results, securing 1st and 3rd in the CCI2*-S.
For nearly three years, Jemima has been mentored by Gareth Hughes, complemented by training with equestrian icons Laura Collett MBE and Jay Halim. Her dedication to continuous improvement underscores her ambition to excel in the highly competitive world of eventing.
